Review: Nature Box: Healthy Snacks For the Whole Familys

Nature Box is a subscription service that sends you a box of snacks each month that are healthy, and good for you. You get 5 full size bags of snacks each month which equals about 15-20 serving. They snacks are always different. The price of the subscription each month is $19.95, which is very reasonable.

In stores you pay an average of $5 to $6 dollars for snacks that are considered ‘healthy’. There is never a minimum of shipments you have to purchase before you can cancel. You can always cancel the subscription whenever you want to. You can also give a gift subscription to friends and family, which is a great way to let them know that you care about them and their health.

Nature Box snacks do not contain High Fructose Corn Syrup, Hydrogenated Oils, Tran Fats, Artificial Colors, Flavors or Colors. It has been determined that people on the United States get 25% of their calories from snacks. As we all know the fats in snacks are one of the leading causes of adult and childhood obesity.

For each Nature Box purchased helps to feed the hungry. Many children go hungry every day in the world. Nature Box has a partnership with Feeding America, which feeds over 14 million children a year. So you would be supporting a great cause.

My Take On Nature Box Snacks

When I first received Nature Box I didn’t know what to expect before I opened it. I thought it was going to contain ‘healthy’ snacks that tasted bland. I was pleasantly surprised! The snacks I received were full of flavor.

My box contained Carrot Chips, Roasted Garlic Pumpkin Seeds, Chipotle Maple Almonds, Country Ranch Peas and Cinnamon Spiced Granola. My favorites were the Chipotle Maple Almonds and the Cinnamon Spiced Granola.

I love carrots, but I had never had Carrot Chips. My first bite was like ‘I am not sure about these’, but after trying a few more I started to like them. My nephew loves carrots and he loves the Carrot Chips..

Who doesn’t like Roasted Pumpkin Seeds, or garlic? I loved these. The taste of Garlic is not too strong, and the seasoning is just right.

Now as for the Chipotle Maple Almonds, they are perfect with the spicy Chipotle flavor and the sweetness of the Maple. These were my husbands favorite!

The Ranch Peas were full of flavor, but I wasn’t sure about them at first. My thoughts were ‘ dried peas with Ranch, nope I don’t think so’, but they are actually pretty good.

Now on to the Cinnamon Spiced Granola. This is one of my favorites. The Granola is good on yogurt, ice cream or just by its self. I personally like it best by itself.

Ladies if you are anything like me, you have bought and tried a lot of foundations and pressed powders, right? So when I received the email invite from Buzz Agent to join the campaign for Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2 in 1 Foundation & the Pressed Powder, I joined right away. What woman doesn’t like free make up? Especially when it has the name ‘Covergirl’ or ‘Olay’ on the front.

When I received my kit in the mail, I opened it right away. I was really anxious to try it and see if it did what it says on the commercials I have seen on tv. The kit contained ‘Covergirl & Olay Tone Rehab 2-in-1 Foundation, and Pressed Powder’, and they were both full size products, not samples! The other contents of the box were the Official BZZGuide and 20 coupons for $2 off with the colors on the back to share with friends and family. The color chart takes the guess work out of choosing the right tone that works best with your skin tone.

Alright now on to my review. As soon as I started putting the fountain on I could tell that it was going to make my skin tone more even and it felt light not cakey like some fountains tend to feel. I did one side of my face only and looked in the mirror, and compared both sides. Sure enough the side that I put the foundation looked smoother and the tone of my skin looked more even.

I have a few light scars on the bottom part of my jaw line (they are from when I was little and had the chicken pox), and I could barely see them now. Next I put on the pressed powder and it gave my face a more finished look. Both the 2 in 1 foundation and the pressed powder felt light on my skin and not oily, which I love!

I have been using them both for about 3 weeks now and I haven’t had a single break out and my skin feels softer and smoother to the touch. I was using an age defying foundation before and it always felt oily and heavy on my skin and did not cover my scars. I will definitely be using this makeup from now on. I have used many different Foundations and the Covergirl & Olay 2 in 1 Foundation & Pressed Powder is the best I have used so far.

How many of you love candy? I am right up there on top, but it is chocolate that I crave! I have to admit that there are times that I eat 2 candy bars in a day, but not everyday of course. Have you ever wished there was a candy bar with no artificial ingredients, preservatives, or corn syrup! The wishing is over, there is a new candy and it is ‘Unreal’ and ‘Unjunked! I have been given the privileged to try a new candy by BuzzAgnet, in exchanged for my honest opinion.

Unjunked candy was developed by Nicky, a father and Adam, a top chef in Spain along with top scientists and chefs all across Europe. The goad was to create a candy that didn’t include hydrogenated oils, corn syrup, artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives, and less sugar. Together they decided the key ingredients needed to be responsibly sourced, supporting farming communities and preventing destruction of the rain forests. All ingredients needed to be non GMO. Dairy needed to come from pasture raised cows with no antibiotics or added hormones (cows are almost never raised this way). All of these factors together make producing the candy better for our planet and of course the people.

There are 5 different candies at this time, chocolate candy shell with peanuts, chocolate candy shell, chocolate caramel nougat, chocolate caramel peanut nougat, and my favorite is chocolate peanut butter. I was sent a coupon, by BuzzAgent to use on 1 candy bar, which I used in Walgreens. The ones I chose to try were the chocolate peanut butter, the chocolate caramel peanut nougat and the chocolate candy shell with peanuts. I was a little worried that the candy was not going to taste good. I was pleasantly surprise!

“These are my favorite, so far’

As you can see by the screen shots above there is less sugar, carbs and has fiber. Have you ever saw a snickers that included fiber? I have never noticed fiber listed on the back of a snickers or any candy bar, unless it was a health or fiber bar. I loved the chocolate peanut butter one, it lasted really good. I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. The Candy Coated Chocolate Peanut one was good, but the chocolate tasted a little different to me. The Chocolate Carmel Nougat and Peanut one is also really good. With this one I didn’t feel like I missing anything either.

The getunreal website says that the candy is about the same price as traditional candy in the store. I tend to disagree with that, because I normally pay anywhere from .50 to .79 cents for a candy bar, and the Unreal candy is $1.79 per bar at Walgreens. They could be cheaper at other stores, that I do not know, but if you were getting one a couple of times a week the price is reasonable considering you get a healthier candy.

Some of the stores where you can find the candy are Walgreens, CVS, Michaels, Food4less, Kroger & FredMeyer. You can check there website for more stores that may be in your area. All in all I was very pleased with the ‘Unreal’ candy. I will definitely be buying it again.

Product Review: eSalon Custom Formulated Hair Color

I first discovered eSalon hair color on Silverfaeries & Dragonflies blog (you can read her review here). ESalon makes hair color that is custom formulated to your personal hair. They do this by using your answers to questions about you hair. The process is easy and simple. You answer a series of questions about your natural hair color, type, texture, length and the color that you want to achieve. When you are finished answering all the questions they give you several colors to choose from. You can also upload a picture of yourself to further personalize the custom hair color. Then you place your order and they send it right to your home.

My Review:

First let me say that I was not compensated in any way to review this product. I purchased it on my own and decided to share my experience and opinion with you.

I decided to purchase hair color from eSalon because the website said you get your first order of hair color FREE and only pay shipping and handling. I only paid $4.95 for shipping, so I figured, “what did I have to lose”. The normal price is $20. The eSalon website has a 30 day money back guarantee. If you are not happy with the hair color you get a replacement for free or your money back. I received my color in 4 days. That was pretty fast.

Inside the box was 1 application of hair color, an application brush, gloves, after color conditioner and directions especially for me. Also included was stain guard and a color remover packet.

You can also purchase other hair coloring accessories, but I chose not to. First I applied the stain guard around my hairline, being careful not to get it on my hair. Be sure that you use the stain guard all around you hairline, because the hair color is a little hard to wash off. Then I used the brush to apply color to my roots. I have never used a brush to apply color to the roots of my hair before. The directions do say that the brush application provides better root coverage, so I used the brush. The brush application was easy and I had always thought it would be hard. Then after sectioning my hair into 4 sections with clips, I applied the hair color to each section one by one.

The directions said to leave the color on my hair for 30 minutes, which I did. After the 30 minutes I jumped in the shower and rinsed my hair, shampooed (as suggested) then applied the conditioner. I was excited to see the color in my hair so I hurried to the mirror and wanted to cry. My hair was way darker than a medium brown (golden). It was closer to dark brown and black. I thought ok I will let it dry and look again. Disappointment, it was still the same. It does have golden highlights though.

I will say that my hair felt good and the coverage of my roots and temples were great! Not one grey hair in site! It has also made my hair shiny (big plus). It has been 4 days since coloring my hair and I am getting used to the color, even though I didn’t want it this dark. The color is just about the color of my natural hair color. When I use store bought hair color, little grey hairs always start to show at my temples within the first week. With this hair color they are not. So that is a big PLUS. I had almost forgotten my real hair color, because I have been coloring my hair for over 20 years now.

I will be using eSalon again int he future because of the coverage and the way it makes my hair feel. I think next time I will order a shade lighter, just to make sure I get my hair the color I want.

UPDATE: A Customer Service Rep sent me an email saying that they would adjust my color so I can get the color results that I want. The CSR also called be on the phone and was a great help to me (I wasn’t expecting that either)! ESalon also said that my next application would be free (although I wasn’t looking for this), but I do appreciate it. Customer Service for eSalon is GREAT! Most companies would not call you personally to help.

Calming, Sweet New Fragrances- Flora by Gucci ‘The Garden’

Gucci has 3 new women fragrances in the Flora Garden collection. They all have a fresh clean, calming effect on the senses. They are Georgous Gardinia, Glorious Magnolia and Gracious Tuberose.

Georgious Gardenia is a mixture of sweet Gardinia petals and is enhanced by the Grangipani Flower, undertones off Patchouli and brown sugar.

Glorious Magnolia has the fresh scent of Magnolia petals, with the undertones of freesia zest and green leave, and peony. There is also a hint Sandalwood, musk and warm chocolate.

Gracious Tuberose has the scent of all the aspects of the Tuberose flower with violet leaves and peach blossoms. There are undertones of white cedarwood and cistus enhances this glorious fragrance.

My Review

When I receive this package in the mail and opened the box it smelled like heaven! The box itselt was very pretty and elegant as you can see in the picture. I thought 'I can use this to organize pictures or recipes'. (my mind is always working!) So I moved on to the contents, there were 3 little boxes and each was a different fragrance. Did I mention the contents of the box smelled heavenly? Yes, ok moving on.

Besides the 3 little boxes of perfume there were 4 samples of each perfume to share. There was a pamplet that told about each fragrance. I opened each bottle and smelled each perfume, and then did it again. My personal favorite was the Georgious Gardinia, the one that is pink. I love gardinias and Pachouli! Gardinias remind me of when I was younger and was given my first perfume by my grandmother. Pachouli makes me think of my youngest sister, who I think should have been born in the 70's. So those 2 fragrances together give me a calming affect.

I also enjoyed the frangrance of the Glorious Magnolia. As you know a Magnolia tree is one of the most beautifu trees ever and what makes them beautiful is the flowers on them. The scent of the magnolia is a fresh, warm and flowery scent. My husband liked this one the best and so did my mother.

I had never heard of the Tuberose flower, so I didn't know what to expect. I did like this one, but it was m least favorite. The Tuberose scent is mixed with peach blossoms and violet leaves. I adore both of those scents, but I didn't enjoy this one as much as the other two frangrances.

All in all I would say that Gucci has done a wonderful job in putting together all 3 fragrances. I would highly recommend all 3. Have you tried any of the 3 fragrances yet? If so which one is your favorite and why?

I am a member of Buzz Agent and was given a coupon for a 3 lb bag of Hill’s Science Ideal Balance dog food to try and give my opinion. I chose the Ideal Balance Grain Free dog food. I have always fed my dogs the same food because I don’t want to upset their stomachs.

After reading the ingredients I decided to give it a try. Chicken is listed as the first ingredient and not corn, which was a big plus! My dogs went crazy when I opened the bag, but what dog wouldn’t when they think they’re getting a treat.

I fed them the food and they loved the taste. How do I know? I mixed it with their current food and they ate it like they haven’t ate in days. I had heard of Hill’s Science Diet before but never gave it a try. The price is a little high, but it would be worth it because of the fresh ingredients used.

In most dog foods today corn is usually the first ingredient. With Hill’s Science Diet Ideal Balance they use fresh chicken and eggs in each bag to build lean muscle. The dog food also contains carrots, peas and broccoli which is a good source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. Prebiotics is also in the food which promotes digestive health.

I have switched my dogs to Ideal Balance Grain Free, and they love. Beauty (my Maltese) has a sinsitive stomach, and since she has been eating this food she has been geat! Have you ever tried Hill’s Science Ideal Balance Dog food? How did your dogs like it?

The 3 frozen Private Selection foods I am reviewing are a pizza, an appetizer and a desert.

The pizza I chose to try was the ‘Margherita Napolitana Marble Hearth Baked Pizza’. I chose this pizza because I love tomatoes and the picture on the front of the box looked yummy!

New Private Selection frozen pizzas are a convenient way to reward your sense of good taste with quality ingredients and amazing flavors. Each pizza begins with an oval crust baked in a stone hearth marble oven. The resulting crisp, flaky, thin crust is the delicious base for fine, authentic sauces and ingredients. Review:
I wasn’t sure what to expect with this pizza, because most frozen pizza’s have an alright taste, but they never taste natural or very good. I was pleasantly surprised with the taste of this pizza! I loved the thin, crispy crust and the tomatoes tasted like they were just picked off the vine. The pizza did not taste at all frozen! The cheese was very good and tasted the way cheese is supposed to and not at all like processed cheese.

The price for the Private Selection Pizza was pretty good, at an average price of $4.99 per pizza. There are 4 kinds of pizza to choose from, like Margherita Napolitana Marble Hearth Baked Pizza, Zesty Barbeque Chicken Pizza, and Roasted Garlic. I will be purchasing Private Selection pizza again in the future. The Private Selection line of frozen pizza’s use all quality ingrediants, and you can taste the difference.

The appetizer that I chose to try was the ‘Mediterranean Inspired Hors D’Oeuvres Collection’. They tasted good, but I wasn’t as impressed with them as I was the pizza.

Whether you’re relaxing with friends or hosting a splashy gala, Private Selection Frozen Appetizers will make your party come alive. Inspired taste fusions create appetizers that are perfect as a prelude to dinner or just as a light accompaniment to drinks. Review:
After trying the Private Selection pizza I had high hope for this appetizer. I was a little disappointed with the taste of these. The Mushroom Phyllo Triangle was the best of the appetizer. I also liked the Spinach Pesto Puff. I didn’t care much for the Feta Sundried Tomato Phyllo Roll, but this one was my husbands favorite. So it is all a matter of taste! The pastry part of these was good, but the filling was really salty.

The average price for each box of Private Selection Appetizers is $6.99, and in my opinion that is a little expensive considering the small quantity in the box (there are 9 pieces). There are a few more selections to choose from such as Southwestern Style Chicken Trumpets and Mushroom Walnut Profiteroles. I can honestly say that I probably will not be purchasing these appetizers in the future.

Last but no least, the desert I tried was the ‘Northern Spy Apple Crisp’, which in my opinion was really good!

Review:
This Apple Crisp was really good! It tasted like homemade apple cobbler, minus the crust on the bottom. There are are 2 servings per box, so you can share one with your honey or eat them both. My husband doesn’t eat sweets too often, but he enjoyed this desert. The crisp are easy to prepare. Each one comes in a small bowl, and you remove the plastic and put them on a baking sheet and cook for about 18 minutes. The brown sugar and oat crumble on top tasted like it was homemade and the apples were wonderful. With a perfect blend of sweet and sour.

The price for the deserts was $3.99, which is a pretty good price. I usually pay around that for 2 pieces of pie when I buy it. There are several other choices to try, like Pineapple Upside Down Cake, and Blueberry Peach Panna Cotta. I will definitely be purchasing the Private Selection Deserts in the future. Excellent value!
